The Witches’ Rune & The Cone of Power
The Witches’ Rune is often used as an energizing opening ritual. This chant is recited with great energy while rocking, dancing or spinning deosil by just one person for a similar opening.
The Cone of Power
Some covens use this chant for the Ring Dance around the altar. Our version is normally outdoors and dancing around a fire if the weather allows. A cauldron is good for indoor events.
What you can find is something quite powerful should the energy the group connect! If people really get into the chanting and create enough energy the fire will begin to form a cone and dance by itself. The cone can raise quite high and respond quite hypnotically to the group. And this is called a cone of power.
Once the cone of power, or energy, is completely formed, that energy is then sent out en masse, directed towards whatever magical purpose is being worked on. Whether it’s healing magic, protection, or whatever, the group typically releases all of the energy in unison. This kind of power can also be directed into the individuals participating further charging their magical abilities.
We begin by each person sharing something they are needing, or perhaps we are all working on one individual (or a client). The person who is talking holds the cup of wine. After they finish saying what they need to say they take a sip of the wine. The cup is then passed to the next person with a kiss, and they continue.

Everyone faces inward and, holding hands left palms up and right palms downward. No one must let go and all must keep moving. Generally, people start off slow and then get faster and faster as the chanting continues. People only stop when enough energy has been raised and then everybody collapses onto the floor, feeling the charge of the energy.
When everybody has said their piece we all say the witches’ rune once (Version 2 below is one we work with most often).
When everybody begins to move they only chance the following to raise the energy/cone

Darksome night and shining moon
Hearken to the Witches Rune.
East then South, West then North

Wand, pentacle, and the sword

Waken all ye into life.
Powers of the witches blade
Come ye as the charge is made.
Queen of heaven, queen of hell
Send your aid into the spell.
Horned Hunter of the night
Work my will by magick right.
