The Major Arcana

0 – The Fool

It is the card of pure potential and untapped energy, urging the seeker to be open to new experiences and have faith in the universe.

In a tarot reading, the Fool card may represent taking a leap of faith, being spontaneous and carefree, having trust in oneself, and embracing the unknown journey. Conversely, it could also symbolize recklessness, being overly naive and impulsive, or not taking enough responsibility.

You arrive at the path of the seven-year itch…

  • The path of the Fool represents leaping into unknown, unexplored territories.
  • Your spirit craves a new experience, an adventure that you must embark upon regardless of the outcome.
  • This urge feels like an itch that must be scratched.
  • Astrologically, Uranus, the planet of freedom, liberation, and unexpected changes, rules the Fool and spends 7 years in each zodiac sign. I gave this planet the nickname, “The Seven Year Itch!”

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons:

If the Fool comes out on the first card of your reading, you may not be thinking something through because you are in a hurry, and you might learn a new lesson. However, if the Fool comes out in the outcome of your reading, there will be some or all of the following: sudden changes, a new journey, starting over, spontaneous or serendipitous events, and taking risks to get where you want to be.

Remember, if you do not take risks, you’ll never grow!

The Fool will take that risk because the Fool always looks forward and not behind him!

Some interpretations of The Fool card include:

  • New beginnings, opportunities, and adventures
  • Taking risks, being spontaneous, and embracing uncertainty
  • Innocence, freedom, and living in the present moment
  • Naivety, foolishness, and lack of direction or preparation
  • Letting go, detachment, and embracing the journey rather than the destination

It’s worth noting that the imagery, symbolism, and position of The Fool card in the spread can affect its interpretation. For example, The Fool card at the beginning of the spread may indicate a new journey, while in the middle, it may suggest a need for change or a challenge to overcome.

Divination Tip: Trust your intuition when interpreting The Fool card and experiment with different interpretations to find the one that resonates with you.

The Story Of The Fool Tarot Card

The Fool is enumerated zero in the Tarot and symbolizes independence, freedom, a new beginning and starting over again. The Fool embarks on his new journey, unsure of his destination, bound by no plans and indifferent to possible complications along the way.

Innocent and carefree, he walks his dog along his path near the mountain’s edge — unaware of the dangers surrounding him. As he sets off blindly, the Fool blithely risks plunging off a cliff from sheer carelessness. Luckily, his faithful dog keeps him safe by nipping at his feet to warn him that he is perilously close to the edge.

He feels all the possibilities of a fresh new start, his stomach swirling with butterflies. The yellow sky, which matches his yellow boots, reflects his cheery optimism, and he is vitalized with every step he takes. Looking like a special star — a veritable white starburst — the Sun guides the Fool on his new quest. The starburst is enumerated zero, indicating that he is starting afresh.

The snow-capped mountains in the background signal that summer is far from here, and a chill hangs in the air. The snow-capped mountains indicate his aspiration to soar higher than ever before. With spring on the way, the feeling of new origins surges inside him.

His white shirt is symbolic of purity, and the white rose of purity carried by the Fool assures him that his new adventure repays his every step. However, the rose also has thorns, oracles that tell of a few stinging events to befall him along his path, a warning that fails to dissuade him.

His colorful tunic with red sleeves is radiant with blooming flowers and suggests his creativity, blossoming with energy and action. A knapsack holds his belongings and his dog (symbol of faithfulness) prances at his side.

Rejoicing to be on the move again, he yearns to explore all the possibilities before him. He looks forward, not back.

My Interpretation Of The Fool Tarot Card

The Fool (Aquarius) is connected to the planets of Uranus and Saturn, which stand for new beginnings, sudden changes, and learning new lessons on the way. He reflects the new journey that you have undertaken, or perhaps the one that you want to begin, a journey caused by a longing in your spirit that calls for a change.

This card also tells you that, in the past, you have made a few mistakes. However, you feel you have learned from those experiences, for without experience there can be no growth.

The Fool represents growing into the person that you need to become as we all do throughout our life experiences. Everyone makes mistakes, but from them comes wisdom. The Fool heralds a new path with all its twists and turns, leading to a new change.

I have learned that if the Fool shows up as the first card in your reading, you need to take a closer look at the question you have asked. Possibly, you have failed to heed a warning, or perhaps a fog of miscomprehension prevents you from seeing a situation clearly. The Fool signifies a warning that you are not listening to your gut feeling, and you are neglecting your intuition.

The Fool is enumerated zero, a perfect number for this card because the Fool is not sure where he is going, but he has the desire to leap into the unknown. This card is positioned at the beginning rather than at the end of the deck because of the learning experiences the Fool encounters during his journey. He has a quest, a dream to realize, and under its spell he is naive, adventurous, and fearless.

Unaware of the dangers that lie ahead, the Fool would impulsively step off a cliff, or into a big rabbit hole in search of his dream, for he does not think about consequences, but simply goes on his merry way.

This youthful way of thinking is something we lose as age overtakes us, and as we age, we begin to fear change. However, the Fool thinks with a young, innocent mind, as one for whom new experiences hold no dread. Rather than sitting idly and waiting for life to come to him, he pursues it with vigor.

In conclusion, the Fool card in the Tarot represents new beginnings, opportunities, and taking risks. It encourages us to embrace our curiosity, trust our intuition, and be open to unexpected twists and turns in life.

The appearance of the Fool card in a reading can also suggest the need to let go of fear, doubt, or negative self-talk and approach our goals with a sense of lightheartedness and playfulness. While the Fool can signify naivete and recklessness, it ultimately invites us to step outside of our comfort zones and explore uncharted territory

Positive Position: You will leap into the unknown without fear of what lies ahead. You desire a new experience and a fresh new start and you are going for it, hook, line and sinker.

Negative Position: You made the wrong decision, or you have a reluctance to leap into the unknown causing a delay in your journey’s beginning.

When the Fool shows up in the negative position, you might end up falling in a big rabbit hole (a metaphor relating to a disappointing or frustrating event). The Fool does not think about the consequences of his actions. He lives in the moment, and is the risk-taker, very spontaneous, the adventure seeker that is ready for new opportunities. The Fool is also a gambler that loves to roll the dice, and likes to be different!

Timing is shockingly unexpected, immediate, or 1 – 30 days.

01 – The Magician

You arrive at the path of the schmoozer…

The journey of the schmoozer represents the magic of possibilities, discipline and focus.

The Magician is the charming negotiator with magical communication skills. His verbal eloquence makes him a persuasive speaker, salesperson or negotiator, but also a deceptive trickster, or bluffer when he uses his elocutionary gifts to accomplish darker goals.

Astrologically, the Magician is ruled by the planet Mercury, the planet of speed! Mercury determines the speed at which you gather information, think, talk, analyze, write and travel, and gives you a good clue to why the timing of the Magician card is rather fast and sometimes unpredictable.

The Major Arcana Represents Significant Life Lessons: If the Magician appears on the first card of your reading, the Magician is in a hurry like the Fool (unpredictable), and might learn a new lesson. If the Magician card appears in the outcome of your reading, he represents the magic of possibilities. You are going to put your plans into action, or you will meet a person that portends charisma and magnetism for you.

The Story Of The Magician Tarot Card

The Magician is enumerated one in the Tarot deck, the number one referring to the self. He symbolizes new beginnings, where all things are possible, and his confidence enables him to focus all his attention on the realization of his dreams.

This card depicts a young, attractive, robed male emanating confidence. The yellow sky reflects his vitality, and the green vines that hover above him are symbolic of his continuous growth.

The sign of infinity — and of the Holy Spirit — shimmers above his head. This lemniscate symbol represents his thoughts and indicates eternal power. The Magician knows his energy cannot be destroyed as long as he has control of his thoughts.

He holds a bi-directional staff in his right hand, pointing towards the Heavens and the Earth, signifying his power as a conduit for the Holy Spirit. His left hand points toward Earth, directing spiritual energy that descends from above to the Earth. Infinite powers flow through him — as a vessel from the celestial heaven — on their ineffable path to the Earth.

Timelessness and limitless power are also conveyed by the Magician’s belt, which recalls the Ouroboros serpent shedding its skin and devouring its own tail, an act that suggest infinity, rebirth, immortality, rejuvenation, and eternity. Whatever befalls the Magician, he recuperates quickly and sheds the past as the serpent sheds its skin.

The Magician’s tools sit on the red table, a sword, wand, cup, and pentacle, representing the four elements of the zodiac relating to air, fire, water, and earth. The Magician asserts his mastery of his tools, refusing to allow them control over him.

Spread before him are white lilies (representing purity) interspersed with a blaze of red roses (representing his abstract thoughts and desires). Above the Magician is an abundance of yet more red roses, tokens of his passion. White and red surface yet again in his apparel as balanced colors — a white gown, white bandana and a red cloak — the color white symbolic of femininity and purity, the color red symbolic of masculinity and passion.

Fueled by a strong desire to achieve and dominate, he can nevertheless suffer under the burden of the past and emerges from its spell at times only with difficulty. When so burdened, the Magician can become a trickster or bluffer and skillfully creates an illusion of preparedness that belies his true condition because, of course, he wants to win. The Magician symbolizes new beginnings, where all things are possible, and his confidence enables him to focus all his attention on the task at hand. His mastery and capacity for focus are unshakable.

My Interpretation Of The Magician Tarot Card

The Magician is connected to the planet Mercury — aptly so considering its parallels with his power of communication and manner of thinking. In his lowest form, the Magician embodies the mind of the deceitful and cunning trickster or bluffer; yet on a higher level he corresponds to the fascinating workings of a rational, objective mind. His thinking is short term, rooted firmly in the present. He is quick to contradict, but also to come up with answers.

When he feels incapable of freeing himself from the clutches of the past, his iron will wards him against harm or failure. The Magician never discloses his inscrutable plans because of his need to win at all he sets his hand to. He uses his charm and communication skills to persuade the people around him to agree with his way of thinking.

In a reading, if the Magician is surrounded by positive Tarot cards, it may mean his charm and sense of fun makes him a pleasure to associate with. When the Magician card is surrounded by negative Tarot cards, be alert to the danger that he may represent a con man. Be careful in whom you trust, as appearances can all too often lead one astray.

Positive Position: You will put your plans into action because you are looking forward to the magic of possibilities. You are confident, focused, and all your attention is related to the realization of your dreams.

Negative Position: You are overconfident, misleading, the trickster or the schmoozer. You are experiencing delays with putting your plans into action, or you are not ready to put your plans into action, or you will mislead others into making the wrong choices, or keep others waiting.

Timing is usually immediate, or 1 – 30 days.

02 – The High Priestess

You arrive at the path of the whisperer… The High Priestess represents the path of intuition and meeting your higher self (the intuitive guide who resides inside of you).

Astrologically, the Moon (secret keeper, symbol of the hidden or subconscious) rules the High Priestess. She is also influenced by the zodiac sign of Cancer, and the planets related to secrets and what is hidden or invisible (Pluto and Neptune).

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the High Priestess comes out on the first card of your reading, you are asked to wait patiently for the revelation of a secret. You need to quiet all the nonsense that is going on between your head and heart, and not become the Fool in this hurry up moment. However, if the High Priestess comes out in the outcome of your reading, you have learned how to be patient and wait for the answer to your burning question through your dreams, initial gut feeling, visions, spiritual realizations, and the memo from your higher source (the whisperer).

Your first gut feeling (intuition, sixth sense) is your spirit, your subconscious, and the voice of your High Priestess speaking to you. This voice, residing within, is dedicated to protecting you from deciding poorly. You need to listen, to stop what you are doing, especially when you are receiving mixed messages between your heart, your head, your intuition, and your first gut feeling!

The Story Of The High Priestess Tarot Card

The High Priestess is enumerated two in the Tarot deck and symbolizes intuition, wisdom and secret knowledge stored in her subconscious, waiting to be revealed.

The High Priestess is poised delicately between the conscious (the part of you that takes action, makes yes or no decisions), and the subconscious (secrets waiting to be revealed to you through intuition, initial gut feeling, visions, dreams and spiritual exploration). The High Priestess leads toward peace in all relationships and situations. She helps you avoid the ravages of karma — the cause and effect of situations whose nature is unclear.

A wise, religious woman, she helps inspect the darkest reaches of your life to examine your unanswered questions and raise awareness of what is interred in your subconscious. An inscrutable mystery shrouds the High Priestess, who sits in front of the mystical veil that symbolizes everything hidden, but waiting to be revealed, the veil that frustrates your incessant search for answers.

A white and blue gown adorns the High Priestess (white=purity, blue=knowledge). She sits between two pillars, the darker indicating completion and the lighter indicating new beginnings. The pillars represent the transition from endings to new beginnings and indicate the hall of truth and the law of the Torah. She holds a scroll containing the Torah, the Hebrew Scripture of religious law whose mysteries she so profoundly understands.

The throne’s importance lies in the High Priestess’s connections to the secrets that lie behind it and also signifies an elevated rank associating her with the royal seat and higher power of dignity.

The pomegranates have served as a symbol of beliefs and desires in almost every religion. The palms represent a burning heat of passion during times of trial, as well as a sense of what is right and wise. Taken together, fruit and palm are the burning desire of passion that lead to the beginning or the completion of the secret that will be at last revealed.

The lotus flowers (white = beginning, black = completion) are compliments to the pillars. The High Priestess’s cross is fashioned after the Holy Cross where Christ was crucified, which came to be accepted as a Christian cross. This connects the High Priestess to Christian beliefs and further signifies her devout religiosity.

The Crescent Moon at her feet is growing in size “waxing” or “increasing” symbolizing a new beginning, and a period of growth. Under her feet, the yellow earth fills her with inspiration and enlightenment.

Behind the pomegranates can be seen the enormity of the ocean, whose tides are always and inextricably linked to and controlled by the powerful Moon. Your emotions are in constant flux like the tides of the ocean, thus allowing you to hear the voice of your High Priestess guiding you.

My Interpretation Of The High Priestess Tarot Card

The High Priestess calls for the balancing of logic, emotions, and intuition regarding any situation. Sometimes the facts that you seek evade you, but try as they might to stay hidden in the subconscious, they are revealed to you in dreams, initial gut feeling, visions, spiritual realizations, and the memo from your higher source (the whisperer). Quiet the raging thoughts of your mind, strive to hear the voice inside of you, and the answers to your questions will manifest.

When you feel thwarted, overwhelmed with impatience, and walled in by seeming nonsense, you may commit the fatal error of ignoring your intuition. Your first feeling about something usually contains the truth. Once you understand this, the confusion caused by warring senses becomes resolved. The High Priestess keeps your secrets. Only you know what your subconscious covertly signals. Silence your mind enough to listen to your intuitive guide, and she will reveal the secret to your own happiness. However, your intuitive guide absolutely requires your unfailing trust.

If the High Priestess appears in your reading, it is time to inquire into your true feelings, to delineate your thoughts and assessments of your life. The High Priestess points toward the subconscious, the understanding of higher truths through dreams and intuition and a connection to the spiritual forces within. The High Priestess is the intuitive clairvoyant and her role is to create harmony and forge your inner balance. Yet unrevealed, personal secrets lurk within this card.

The Message Might Be Gentle Or Roar Like The Lion

Sometimes, you will receive a soft gentle message, but other times you might receive a strong message that roars like a lion, and creates thunder… Time to examine the unconscious, guardian angels, subconscious (whisperer) and the conscious.

The Unconscious: This part of your brain contains unseen awareness. It holds all the data about you, including past memories, feelings and thoughts. It runs your entire body. The unconscious dumps information into your subconscious through dreams and visions, and it stores everything that you have ever experienced.

Guardian Angels: Your guardian angel sends information from your unconscious to your subconscious, and works in a mysterious way. Guardian Angels are assigned to you on the day of your birth and stay with you until the day of your death because they are your protectors and teachers!

I learned that guardian angels are the only spiritual beings allowed to interfere with your free will! When you hear a strong voice, roaring like a lion, and creating thunder, this voice comes from your guardian angel because you might be in the wrong place at the wrong time and you might hear this message: “Do Not” get in your car (in the boat, on that plane, go shopping, trust that person). Pay attention! Stop what you are doing and listen! If you do not listen, you will experience something unpleasant which sometimes relates to life altering conditions you cannot change!

I also learned that when you ask your guardian angel for help, you will get help. You may not hear your guardian angel speaking to you, but you will be directed to the person or source that will supply the answers you need to solve your confusion.

The Subconscious (The Whisperer): The subconscious obeys commands it receives from your unconscious. Your subconscious mind is related to your intuition (the time when you are searching for the truth in order to solve your problems), dreams (what happened in the past or will happen in the future), visions (related to a prophecy or timing of either a future or past event) and the secret memo (from your “Higher Self or Higher Source”, revealing secret information).

The information you receive from your subconscious brings you into that “AHA Moment”. This is information that you need pertaining to a particular person or a particular situation to help you make the right decision or avoid making the wrong decision. Your subconscious mind serves you twenty-four hours a day, and your “Higher Self or Higher Source” is busy writing memos to you about what you crave or what you need to let fall away from you. These memos relate to personal experiences that will lead you into good or bad times.

The Conscious: The conscious mind receives all the data that you will experience. It makes you take action, but also asks you to make a heartfelt decision that will be either positive or negative. This is the part of you that says “Yes or “No” and you will either accept the data or you will reject it.

Positive Position: If you are waiting to hear a message from your higher self, the message and hidden secret will be revealed to you through your dreams, intuition, and initial gut feeling about a situation. You need to wait patiently and not take action on anything until you receive the message from your higher self (the memo from the whisperer).

Negative Position: You might go against your intuition and make a mistake because you are impatient and lack the commitment of waiting to receive the memo for your higher-self (the whisperer). Or something is going on behind the scenes that you are not aware of, or a secret is revealed to you that might be good or bad, depending on what you are hoping to happen.

Timing is 1 – 30 days, or related to the phases of the Moon.

New Moon or Solar Eclipse (not visible – making a wish and starting a new plan). First Quarter Moon (growing in size – action oriented – pushing ahead to a testing point). Full Moon or Lunar Eclipse (wishes come true – or the release of what is not working). Third Quarter Moon (shrinking in size – strong beliefs with what you want – you will put these beliefs in action, or let go and release what binds you).

03 – The Empress

You arrive at the path of the earth mother…

The Empress represents the path of giving birth to life (new beginnings). She is the mother of the Earth and the goddess of fertility and desires to balance all relationships.

Astrologically the Empress is associated with Venus, the planet of love, sex, pleasure, beauty, art, money, investments, committed relationships, unions, and partnerships.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Empress comes out on the first card of your reading, you may not be thinking something through because you are in a hurry. If the Empress appears in the outcome of the reading in a positive position, there will be an attraction connected to something that you really want, such as romance, love, giving and sharing, merging, uniting and many other urges and desires (only you know what these urges and desires mean).

The Story Of The Empress Tarot Card

The Empress is enumerated three in the Tarot, the perfect number according to the ancients, a number which stands for creation and completeness, reward and success.

She is the mother of the Earth and goddess of fertility, symbolizing a woman and her fruitful union with a man, resulting in a child. As a loving and attentive mother she showers life with an abundance of wonder and goodness.

The yellow sky conveys the joyous optimism of the Empress’s thoughts. Her jeweled golden crown, topped with twelve stars, represents divine love. The twelve stars also represent the twelve signs of the zodiac, a woman’s cycles throughout the year and her power of seduction through her cycles.

Her woven throne is red (red = energy, passion, high rank) as is her cushion and blanket. The globe scepter in her right hand indicates rules of ceremony and is a symbol of her sovereignty, royal rank, authority and her power as fertile Earth mother. The white of her dress symbolizes purity (as does her pearl necklace), while the red pomegranates that adorn it depict a fruit that throughout religious history has symbolized beliefs, desires, seduction, and fertility.

Beside her throne lies a protective shield, shaped like a heart and bearing the symbol of the planet Venus. A field of wheat (nourishment, the process of sowing, growth and harvest) connects the Empress to the Earth. The cypress trees clustered in the background represent the planet Venus and connect to the zodiac sign of Taurus (spring, new growth) and Libra (fall, end of growing season).

The waterfall and stream ripples with the energy and motivation which the Empress devotes to her particular issues and relationships through her subconscious. Finally, the blooming garden represents a fruitful mother connected in her bounty and splendor to Mother Nature.

My Interpretation Of The Empress Tarot Card

The Empress is connected to the planet Venus, which pertains to possessions and love for them, and pleasure shared with other people. Concerned with everything woven into the complex strands of your web of emotional attachments, marriages, unions and other close relationships, Venus asks nothing more than to spread happiness and tenderness — all the while teaching you how to love and appreciate others and all that they possess.

When she appears in your reading in a positive position the Empress may signify your maternal desire or potentiality, or perhaps your desire to give and receive a mother’s love. All women who consider bringing forth or adding to a family hail Venus as a munificent omen. Either way, the Empress brings the good luck that accompanies growth. She can also signify the need to focus on your role as a mother or your relationship with your own mother or mother figure.

Every human at some level feels the need for love and care, and the Empress signifies those universal feelings of comfort and reward that you receive while loving and caring for your dearest ones. As a result, she is a sign that abundance and well-being are afoot and that matters are tending toward their best possible resolution.

When this card appears in a reading, examine the surrounding cards and try to understand the relationship to the question you have asked. If the Empress appears in a reading surrounded by negative cards, perhaps a female in your life threatens to dominate or suffocate you. This position is warning you not to allow her to do so.

Positive Position: You may experience a pregnancy, engagement, committed relationship, marriage or business partnership. The Empress gives birth to life and everything is on course and will come to a successful harvest.

Negative Position: You are feeling unbalanced, vain, insecure or needy. This position could also represents a clandestine affair (the cheater), or perhaps a female threatens to dominate or suffocate you. It might also indicate someone experiencing fertility problems, bloody menopause at the end of childbearing years, or a turn for the worse in a relationship.

Timing is 1 – 30 days.

04 – The Emperor

You arrive at the path of the mover and shaker. The Emperor represents the path of power, obedience and control. He is the father and builder of structures and assumes command of his life, environment, body, temperament, instincts and affairs of his heart.

Astrologically the Emperor is ruled by Aries, connected to Mars, a leader, mover and shaker, fearless and forging ahead. He is direct, has no hidden agenda, and can be either demanding or charismatic.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Emperor comes out on the first card of your reading, there will be a definite change because you are in a hurry. If the Emperor appears in the outcome of the reading in a positive position, there may be new opportunities that you will go after that will bring success.

The Story Of The Emperor Tarot Card

The Emperor is enumerated four, a stable number that denotes security, authority, control, responsibility, and experience. The number four can be disrupted only with great difficulty, for this number has the strength of Hercules in the Major Arcana. But stagnation, the Emperor’s weakness, ever threatens to rob him of his focus.

The card’s background is bright orange woven with yellow. Orange indicates energy, intelligence, determination, confidence, ambition, and action, while yellow represents creativity, intellect, mental activity, clarity and enlightenment. His formidable stone throne — a sign that he is rigid and set in his ways — with its emblem of the ram, represents the power of majestic royalty, a position of solid, earned strength typical of the Aries cardinal fire sign. This power and authority are also indicated by his jeweled-studded crown.

He is well-versed in how to protect himself from his enemies. Layered over his armor he wears a red robe indicating high royal rank and a bright blue shirt indicating superior intelligence and awareness. Power radiates from the gold staff in his right hand and the gold bracelet on his left hand.

Since he is connected to the planet Mars and the sign of Aries, he has a stubborn side. His arduous life experiences, symbolized by his long, white beard, have taught him unforgettable lessons that he is not likely to set aside or turn from lightly. He wears boots made of armor, a sign to his would-be enemies that he is capable of trampling them underfoot.

The Emperor’s officers are covering their faces because they fear him. The officer dressed in yellow fears the Emperor’s intellect and mental activity and the officer dressed in orange fears his ambition, and the changes that he is not afraid to make.

The Emperor wants you to know that he is strong and prepared to confront the random vicissitudes of life. Fear holds no sway over him.

My Interpretation Of The Emperor Tarot Card

The Emperor’s character speaks of establishing a strong, stable foundation for life and of forging plans that will convert thoughts and ideas into reality. A disciplined leader, he has always earned his way and never retired to the background or relied on the charity or assistance of others. These traits make him a respected teacher for the next generation, who will view him as the father and benefactor, builder of the home, husband, lover, and strong career man.

Power and ambition define the Emperor. He assumes command of his own life as well as his environment, body, temper, instincts, and affairs of his heart. The wants and needs of others cannot hope to control this aggressive, brave, bold, and commanding figure.

As monarch, commander and chief of his environment, the Emperor can either be demanding or charismatic, possibly representing just the person that you need to motivate you and impel you to realize your potential. (See “If the Emperor is your boss” under Negative Position).

Positive Position: You are confident, the father and builder of structures, solid foundations, and the boss in control. The Emperor is in control of his marriage, family, business and his environmental relationships. The Emperor represents a person who offers sound advice and a secure relationship.

Negative Position: You feel distraction and a distorted focus that is causing paralysis and an abrupt disruption, a lack of control and self-discipline. The Emperor can be difficult to deal with because of his need to control everything and his categorical refusal to entertain the thoughts and plans of other people.

If the Emperor is your boss, he can feel like an unwelcome burden. You may even question his leadership abilities, finding him demanding or unreasonable. It might be time to rethink your position in the workforce because his blunt, unrefined comments can be cold and hurtful. The problem lies in his belief that his position, earned through laborious efforts, makes him invariably right. Though his intelligence and strength cannot be denied, they do not give him the right to wound others with his stinging opinions.

Timing is 1 – 30 days

05 – The Hierophant

You arrive at the path of the hidden prophecy. The path of the Hierophant represents the sacred rules and vows of society and tradition.

The Hierophant may indicate hearing an inner call from above, the call that guides and directs you to connect to your true purpose in life – that of helping others. He is the priest, your spiritual teacher, shaman or counselor who will help you through the most challenging times of your life.

Astrologically, Taurus, the zodiac sign of stability, practicality, comfort, and harmony rules the Hierophant. This sign also is conservative, loyal, artistic, patient, and sensual but can be stubborn, materialistic, argumentative and slow-moving.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Hierophant comes out on the first card of your reading, you might be in a hurry to get sound advice from a reliable person you can trust, or you might feel an inner calling to help someone. If the Hierophant comes out on the outcome card, in the positive position, you may meet a spiritual teacher, shaman, mentor, or counselor who will help you, or you may be asked to teach and help others. You might hear that “inner call from above” guiding and directing you to your true life’s path. Your work will bring you abundance, growth and opportunity.

The Story Of The Hierophant Tarot Card

The Hierophant is enumerated five in the Tarot deck and is symbolic of harmony and unity in all elements of spiritual knowledge and wisdom. A strong teacher and leader of religion, spirituality, and tradition, he sits regally on a stone throne ensconced by two stone pillars representing strength and rigid structure. He follows the rules of his faith, believing in them utterly.

His robe is red with white detail — red signifying royalty, strength, and passion, white signifying purity. His blue gown and collar represent his inner thoughts and deep understanding based on faith.

His three-tier gold crown symbolizes the three aspects of the Holy Trinity. His gold triple staff represents spiritual power, and his right hand pointing towards the heavens symbolizes a connection to higher powers. The Hierophant is associated with the pope, the head and supreme power of the Catholic Church.

The black and white checkered floor tiles represent good and evil and the Hierophant is equally disposed to work with either. The red carpet signifies royalty and high ranking position. The white shoes with cross emblem signify his spiritual grounding, purity, and his status as a celebrant.

Two keys lie crisscrossed before him, denoting the keys to the kingdom of heaven (or a hidden prophecy). Since no locks can be seen, he may have the power to grant or deny entrance.

Two young priests kneel at his feet, beseeching guidance. The color and decoration of their robes denote they are celebrants. Learning from the Hierophant’s experience and wisdom, they will ascend to new heights in their education and faith.

This religious teacher of a higher spirituality can illustrate the way of adapting to a belief system that will lead you down the best path for you.

My Interpretation Of The Hierophant Tarot Card

The Hierophant is a healer and represents the Shaman whose purpose is helping you to find the healing that you need during the most trying and challenging times of your life. This healer may be a counselor or another person similarly trained to help others.

This card represents the vows that you take throughout your life, the connection to society, marriage, religion, work, and anything involving large groups. The Hierophant represents the rules of these organizations and is a teacher who enters your life to help you connect with your higher spiritual side.

Every group has rules, says the Hierophant. If you follow their rules as a member of the group, they will accept you. If you flout the group’s rules, they will demand that you beg mercy for your transgression, and will shun you if you do not comply.

If you reject the rules of society and establish a personal code of conduct, your peers will brand you a rebel. Regardless, God gives you the choice to live as you see fit, and it cannot be denied that everyone who walks the Earth has been or will be a rebel.

The Hierophant also represents your inner calling from above to connect to your higher spiritual path to help others, and in return, your work will bring you abundance, growth and opportunity.

I went through my inner spiritual calling when I heard a strong voice, the voice of my spiritual connection, resound within me: “You are going to write a book in three years!” I feel that my book, Tarot Boot Camp, turned out to be a healing book because I was brave enough to share my personal, intimate experiences with each card and always talk to you as a teacher and your friend.

Positive Position: You follow the rules of society, believing in them utterly. These rules relate to marriage, social situations, companies, religion and education. The Hierophant is the trusted guide, shaman, priest, doctor, counselor, lawyer and mentor who will help others during the most difficult times. This could be the time when you hear the inner call from above to work in a career to help others, or to work in a career of spirituality.

Negative Position: You are rebellious, inflexible, a rule-breaker, have fixed beliefs and you are shunned by society, and restricted because you want to live by your personal code and not the code of others.

The groups you belong to are not flexible, and they require extreme conformance to all of their rules. Disagree, and you will be shunned and removed from that group.

Timing: A hidden timing and prophecy. The Hierophant card does not have a timing in my deck.

Note: There are hidden prophecies related to Tarot cards that are enumerated five. These cards represent the time of an unknown, unexpected change being revealed. The universe will redirect your path and change the direction you are headed, a sometimes painful experience. The Hierophant holds the keys to secret knowledge and the hidden prophecy.

06 – Lovers

You arrive at the path of the big scary choice. The path of the Lovers represents making the right choices. The right choices might represent the union of two people bonding together as one.

Gemini, the zodiac sign of flexibility, duality, adaptability, cleverness, curiosity, and geniality, rules the Lovers. This personality can also be changeable, restless, ungrateful, scheming, scatterbrained, and lacking in concentration and follow-through.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Lovers comes out on the first card of your reading, you might be in a hurry because you feel that you have met your soul mate, but you need to slow down and not jump into anything until you are sure because you do not want to make the wrong choice. If the Lovers comes out on the outcome card, in the positive position. Some Tarot decks call the Lovers card “The Choice”. You may need to make a very difficult decision between what you really want and desire verses what is truly right for you.

The Story Of The Lovers Tarot Card

The Lovers card is enumerated six and is symbolic of a choice that needs to be made to achieve harmony. A blazing yellow

sun is symbolic of health, growth, positivity, enlightenment, and emotional health.

At the focal point of the card, an Angel bears a divine message. His large wings are intertwined with red (masculinity) and deep purple (high rank, divine guidance, spiritual love). He perches atop a white cloud intertwined with white, gray, black and red. White conveys a spiritual message. Gray and black represent a lack of clarity, uncertainty or something that is hidden. Red suggests a connection to Cupid, who may be hovering nearby, poised to shoot.

The grapevine leaves in the Angel’s hair are symbols of fertility, suggesting a sexual union between a man and a woman. Passion radiates between the naked man and woman, although the woman casts her gaze toward the Angel, beseeching guidance, filled with the uncertainty that attends a choice to be made.

A snake insinuated around the trunk of a red apple tree recalls Adam and Eve and the treacherous prospect of temptation. The fruit symbolizes her desire of passion and is a reminder of her past mistakes.

This card also presents three people — not two. The third person (the snake) could be an intruder into the relationship enjoyed by the two humans.

Behind the man rises a tree that emits twelve flame leaves (the zodiac signs) and represents the hot burning passion to bond and unite with another, as well as the knowledge of making right or wrong choices. The deep redness of the leaves creates an image of danger and fire, but the yellow within the flame depicts a bright optimism about the man’s passion.

The blue sky creates a sense of clarity and the smallish mountain represents a journey near completion. The path of green grass stands for direction and choice. A new beginning offers a chance at love, and with it, a blissful relationship that leads to marriage and family.

My Interpretation Of The Lovers Tarot Card

I think the Lovers card represents Adam and Eve. Eve stands near a red apple tree (forbidden fruit related to sexual desires) with a snake wrapped around it (devilish desires to walk on the wild side). Adam stands in front of with a tree of flames (burning passions and sexual desires). This tree of flames could represent the tree of knowledge (the tree of good and evil). Good represents making the right choice and having a beautiful experience. Evil represents making the wrong choice, and indicates the lesson to be learned when you make the wrong choice. The angel perched at the top represents Raphael, the relationship angel. This angel is giving the woman and man the choice to bond together.

The Lovers card has three meanings: the choices you will make, soul-mates who will come into your life, and obstacles you will face during relationships.

Primarily, the Lovers card has to do with making the right choices. At times you confront difficult decisions that plague you with uncertainty, risk, and ill-being. Such decisions demand reflection about your most fundamental emotional values and afflict you with indecisiveness. These decisions may affect any aspect of your life, but they invariably inspire incessant self-questioning.

You may face a choice of either selecting a lover or of saving or leaving your marriage. You may be tempted to engage in an affair because of an attraction to another person. The Lovers card signifies intimate relationships, and since physical attractions are an inevitable aspect of life, the temptation brings you into a formidable struggle with what your heart desires and what is right for you.

Secondarily, this card involves a soul-mate who has come in your life. We all have many soul-mates and all inspire profound and inexplicably uncanny feelings of connection when your paths cross. Standard relationship rules suddenly seem irrelevant and obsolete in the face of an overweening desire to connect with this person. This intense, magnetic union requires perfect timing and a complete absence of barriers.

The soul-mate is a lover or friend who erupts into your present lifetime. Comfort and familiarity suffuse your encounter with this individual.

The twin flame is a soul-mate who comes into your life so that both of you can serve God and the universe, enabling your placement on the path of service to others.

The true soul-mate is chosen for you since your birth and is compatible with either your sun sign or your birth chart.

karmic soul-mate encounter begins with a fiery ignition and ends abruptly. This person brings conflict and pain into the relationship in order to teach you something before leaving. This connection usually ends badly.

Finally, this card indicates that a third-party intrudes in your life, blocking your desires. You may have no control over this intrusion since all the influence belongs to whomever you are involved with or are pursuing. The shadow of their past thwarts and hinders you. However, the third party influence might be connected to you because your past is still in the way, preventing you from moving forward.

Positive Position: You might be in a hurry because you feel that you have met your soul mate, but you need to slow down and not jump into anything until you are sure because you do not want to make the wrong choice. The Lovers card represents that you need to make a choice, but you also need to review all your options carefully before making any big relationship choice. The Lovers could indicate meeting a soul mate, an uncanny attraction, misperception of an attraction, a lover’s triangle, or interference of your choice (blocked by another party or blocked by your situation).

You need a union to feel complete. However, you need to examine your personal values and beliefs to bond together with another person as an experience.

Negative Position: You might make the wrong decision, or you are dealing with a love triangle, or you might need to go see a relationship counselor, or you might be experiencing a break-up, separation or divorce, or you might be very unhappy and need to make a heartfelt choice that you have been putting off.

Timing is 1 – 30 days.

07 – The Chariot

You arrive at the path of harnessing your emotions…

The path of the Chariot represents the courage to master emotional control and be triumphant over obstacles.

The Charioteer is the soldier who attains a higher rank and graduates from Boot Camp, fully prepared for anything that life throws at him.

The Chariot is ruled by the zodiac sign of Cancer, a kaleidoscope of emotions as variable as the ocean’s tides. Cancers exude emotion, leading them at times to feel a loss of control. They battle themselves to overcome their buried, internal fears and doubts.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Chariot comes out on the first card of your reading, you might be in a hurry because you feel that you are in control of your life and believe in yourself, but you might jump start something and make a mistake. If the Chariot comes out on the outcome card, in the positive position, you do not let your emotions control you and you have graduated from “Boot Camp” with honors.

The Chariot card can also indicate you will experience a new beginning or an ending.

The Story Of The Chariot Tarot Card

The Chariot is enumerated seven in the Tarot deck, is symbolic of dramatic changes of growth, and indicates obstacles to overcome to gain emotional self-control.

The Charioteer is young, attractive, at his physical peak and wearing his finest attire. He wears a crown of pointed stars (symbol of perfection) and his golden hair and the yellow sky represent optimism while the black skirt and black armor indicates strength.

His Egyptian headdress resembles a cobra, suggesting he will attack any obstacles that hinder him. The snake also represents the charioteer’s spine, for his nervous system is on edge until he completes his mission. Despite a calm exterior his volatile emotions war within him.

The wreath represents attainment, victory, success, and acquired wisdom. The breastplate secures safety from enemy weapons. He leaves his secure kingdom (stone walls, stone buildings with red roofs) and the chariot hurtling forward reflects his hasty personality.

The blue and white canopy of stars indicate his thoughts (blue) and his connection to spirituality and God (white). The four stone pillars represent his balance and strategy, and indicate he is rigid and set in his plans.

Both his shoulders are protected by a blue stone face, each cradled by a crescent Moon, indicating that he is carrying the weight of his thoughts on his shoulders. His determination to bring something to an end and begin anew is indicated by these waxing and waning crescent Moons.

The flow of the river (his thoughts) signals a strong sense of a certain direction. The chariot has crossed the river, the Charioteer has a new mission and he is prepared for each step along the way.

The War Between The Conscious And Unconscious

The Charioteer is paused in thought, the chariot motionless. The sphinxes are not moving and do not appear to be in agreement about their destination. Each is poised to head off in a different direction. The white sphinx represents the conscious (known) and staying in the present to overcome a personal battle. The black sphinx represents the unconscious (unknown), the chaos of the Charioteer’s emotions, the deep emotional conflict that he must be overcome.

The chariot is motionless because the Charioteer is pulled in two different directions. His conscious and unconscious are at war. He must courageously control this internal conflict so can he set his true emotional direction. The sphinxes also indicate the haste of the Charioteer’s thoughts and the war between their masculine and feminine character.

The waxing and waning crescent Moons also stand for such feminine qualities as emotions, feelings, intuition, and mystery. The Moon receives and reflects the light of the Sun, so it symbolizes receptivity and passivity, as well as reflection and emotional reaction.

My Interpretation Of The Chariot Tarot Card

The Chariot card shows a soldier dashing into battle to win control over his emotions and to tame his wild instincts. Everyone, at times, becomes a new recruit in mastering emotional control and learns that emotions drive you and sometimes consume you. You must not allow emotions to turn into anger, grief, repeated self-pity, idleness, or fear. Through battle, you prove worthiness to reach the next rank, to leave “Boot Camp” behind, to exercise self-control when meeting your adversaries, to prepare for anything that life throws at you.

Most crucially, you must retain your motivation and refuse to be swayed by the specter of the past and your mistakes. Instead, the past teaches you to stay calm and centered.

The Chariot is about winning and mastering your emotions – developing the positive side of yourself, becoming strong, self-controlled, able to balance conflicting emotions, and triumph over obstacles. Mastery of your emotions through self-discipline, hard work, and control leads you to peace and the elimination of all aggression from within.

When this card appears in a reading, it represents new beginnings and endings, challenges that you must confront. Your courage is required for an existing struggle, an emotionally destructive relationship, perhaps, that you cannot end or surpass.

You must find the strength to repair the relationship or end it entirely. You will prevail by accepting the need for change, and taking the new steps necessary to find happiness and live your dream. When an issue resists resolution, no matter how difficult, you need to formulate a plan that will orient you correctly.

Positive Position: You are in control of your inner emotions, and your emotions do not control you. You graduated Boot Camp with honors: victory, confidence, and being self-disciplined.

Negative Position: You are at war with your inner emotions, and they control you. You are emotional, obsessed, an over-achiever preoccupied with climbing the ladder of success. Your desire to obtain rapid results makes you a harsh taskmaster. You want to attain your goals or reach your destination soon, without delays or pauses.

During this time, your emotions are tightly strung and you may start acting chaotic, losing all sense of control or balance. Overwhelming ambition and high expectations do not always serve you best. He who takes on too heavy a burden runs the risk of losing all.

Timing is 1 – 30 days.

08 – Strength

You arrive at the path of taming the lion…

The path of Strength represents the inner strength of your spirit, and the time to face an unpleasant situation: the ferocious lion.

Lady Strength has tamed the beast that roars inside of her.

She controls her fears by relying upon the inner strength of her spirit, and not her muscles.

Astrologically, Leo, the zodiac sign of independence, courage, dominance, spontaneity, leadership and self-confidence, rules the Strength card.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If Strength comes out on the first card of your reading, you might be in a hurry because you are ready to face an unpleasant situation. You might challenge someone that you feel is wrong, but you might end up making a mistake if you do not think things through. If Strength comes out on the outcome card, in the positive position, you are respected as a leader because you show the courage and determination to succeed. You view obstacles as new opportunities because fear does not hold you hostage.

The Story Of The Strength Tarot Card

The Strength card is enumerated eight in the Tarot and represents victory over inner temptations and fears through self-control, self-discipline, inner strength, and control over environment. The Strength card shows a woman who has calmly tamed the lion. Fear cannot touch her because her inner strength exceeds her physical strength. She controls both the situation and the beast that roars at her.

She stands in a green valley with trees and seedlings that symbolize growth. A small blue nearby mountain peak represents her thoughts (blue) and indicates that her goal will soon be within her grasp (size and proximity). The mountain symbolizes achievement, courage, accomplishment and her immense challenge in taming the lion. The cloudless yellow sky represents her strength, creativity, enlightenment and optimism.

The lemniscate symbol of infinity above her head represents her thoughts and never-ending power. Her wreath symbolizes infinity and completion, and her crown indicates victory to be claimed in the battle against her primal urges.

A vine of red roses with thorns crowns her head, and a belt-like sash covers her white gown. The roses symbolize passion since red indicates the element of fire. The thorns of the rose suggest a few stinging events along the way. Her white gown is symbolic of innocence, thought, religiosity, and purity of spirit.

She is calmly petting the lion with one hand on top of his head, the other below his mouth. His tail dangles between his legs, indicating his non-aggression. Her dominance meets with his submissiveness, and she has infinite, innate courage to face her fears and control the situation.

The lion symbolizes the beastly fear inside of her and the inner fire that represents the intense blaze of her desires. The lion further represents the level of her courage and her faith to overcome her most stubborn obstacle of fear and to protect herself by controlling her environment.

My Interpretation Of The Strength Tarot Card

The Strength card represents the lion’s energy and the woman’s will to succeed. The lion is connected to fire: a fearful symbol, hot and burning, easily raging out of control.

In this lifetime the woman has lost her fear, but not her respect for fire or her knowledge of how to tame the lion. In seeking to gain control on your road of life, you may be burned or scratched a few times, but the important message of the Strength card is not to give up. Muster the courage to keep going until you succeed.

There are times when everyone faces paralyzing fear. Fear of failure prevents you from succeeding and isolates you from the world. You must confront your fear with courage in order to solve your issues. With determination you can conquer almost any fear, for it truly exists in your mind.

Positive Position: Your inner strength is stronger than your outer strength. You are in control of fear and your surrounding environment. Fear does not control you because you found the courage to face your fears head on. You are brave, self-disciplined, and able to face something unpleasant. You are confident and in control of your personal impulses.

Negative Position: Your fears and worries control you. Your inner strength is weaker than your outer strength, and you are not in control of your environment because it controls you.

The lion is dominating the woman, who does not know how to control him. He tears her to pieces because she is too timid and unwilling to fight. Her surrender to fear allows the beast to be victorious.

Timing is 1 – 30 days.

09 – The Hermit

You arrive at the path of the wounded healer’s journey…

The path of the Hermit represents solitude and isolation in order to analyze and solve a personal crisis.

The Hermit needs to hide for days, weeks, and months and then emerges to solve his crisis, his time of solitude allowing all the pieces of his puzzle to fall in place.

Virgo, the analyst zodiac sign, rules the Hermit, and can be fact-finding, industrious, exacting, humane and clean, or critical, melancholy, picky, skeptical, petty and sloppy.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Hermit comes out on the first card of your reading, you might be in a hurry because you are close to completion with the events you have been working on, but you might end up making a mistake if you do not think things through. If the Hermit comes out on the outcome card, in the positive position, you are coming to completion with something that you have been working on, or you are coming to completion with a personal crisis that you will overcome.

The Story Of The Hermit Tarot Card

The Hermit is enumerated nine, representing completion. He is searching for answers and will not rest until he has completed his search. He stands atop an ice-capped cliff, representing cold weather, harsh conditions, and the obstacles he faces. The height of the cliff represents his ultimate goal. The dark blue sky represents his thoughts, which seem to revolve around a life crisis that requires solitude for consideration.

The Hermit’s long, white beard shows the wisdom of age and experience. He is holding a yellow staff (intellect, caution, will, illumination) which provides protection and clarity while his thoughts guide him through his journey.

His black and gray cloak combine white and black colors, symbols of duality and of conscious and unconscious thoughts. The gray indicates his uncertain thoughts and clouded perception that hides sought-after truth.

His brightly shining lantern guides his inspection of the gray areas. The six-pointed star is two triangles symbolizing man’s union with the divine (higher-self = triangle pointing upward, lower-self = triangle pointing downward).

When in a personal crisis, the Hermit engages in a battle between his higher-self and his lower-self. At the onset of his battle, he becomes separated from the light (higher-self) and falls into the darkness (lower-self) and doubts his connection with the divine. Eventually he challenges his lower-self, rethinks his situation, and reconnects with his higher-self and his beliefs in the divine.

The Hermit will resolve his crisis once he is united and locked in place with his higher-self, thus finding the answers he has been seeking.

My Interpretation Of The Hermit

The Hermit card shows a man in crisis. The unresolved mysteries of life have isolated him and are beginning to eat away at him, driving him to search for answers. He becomes aware that he has behaved without proper forethought. He must now connect with his higher-self to learn what he has overlooked.

He feels that isolation will help him arrive at the answers, and so he paces restlessly from dusk till dawn, thinking and examining, seeking what he has overlooked. This is not a time for socializing or taking action or making any decisions, but rather for peace and solitude in order to think and find clarity.

The Hermit’s desire for solitude makes him impatient with people who disrupt his peace. He hides for days, weeks, months and then emerges to solve his crisis, his time of solitude allowing all of the pieces to fall into place.

The Hermit reminds me of a music artist who must seclude himself to compose something new. I once read a book about a composer who locked himself away for weeks at a time and did not want to eat or be disturbed.

The Hermit also represents secret dealings with friends who help shed light on confusing situations or a therapist that you do not want anyone to know about.

Positive Position: You need to depart from others to complete something important, and do not want to be disturbed, or you might need to be alone to figure something out.

Negative Position: You are completely in the dark. You are in a crisis, alone and lost, excessively isolated, and unwilling to communicate. You cannot concentrate and have lost your lantern, the symbol of your ability to make correct decisions.

Timing is 1 – 30 days.

10 – Wheel of Fortune

You arrive at the path of the tornado of fate…

The Wheel of Fortune represents the path of destiny and fate, and the cycles of life that are forever changing.

The spokes of the wheel signify the peaks and valleys that your mind, spirit and body will pass through during the continuous cycles of change.

Astrologically, Jupiter, the planet of benevolence, prosperity, optimism, expansion, morality, aspirations and indulgences, rules the Wheel of Fortune.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Wheel of Fortune comes out on the first card of your reading, you have a positive outlook regarding your life, but you might make a mistake and not think something through. If the Wheel of Fortune appears in the outcome of your reading in a positive position, your life is going to take a turn for the better. A positive change is in motion, and you will experience a lucky break such as a promotion, a raise, a new job, or meeting someone special.

The Story About The Wheel of Fortune

The blue sky represents thought and movement. The storm clouds hovering in the four corners of the Wheel of Fortune signify uncertainty, concealment, and the possibility of imminent change.

Four winged angels sit on the stormy clouds, each reading what may be a book of great importance. These books appear to have empty pages because they represent the unwritten story of your life, your journey through the Wheel of Fortune.

The winged angel, winged eagle, winged bull, and winged lion represent the four suits of the Tarot, the four quadrants of astrology, the four directions of the winds, and the four seasons. Their yellow wings represent inspiration and creativity, and a deeply rooted faith and love for Jesus.

The winged angel on the upper left side of this card represents air, Aquarius, and your higher intellect. The storm clouds indicate unexpected storms and rainy days ahead that will test your thoughts.

The winged eagle on the upper right side represents water, Scorpio, and your vision. The storm clouds indicate unexpected storms and rainy days ahead for the winged eagle. The break in the cloud represents your vision to see that this storm will pass, and you will experience a turn for the better.

The winged bull on the lower left represents the earth, Taurus, and your determination. The storm clouds are indicative of stormy days that will test your determination.

The winged lion on the lower right represents fire, Leo, and your strength. The storm clouds indicate storms ahead that will test your strength.

Your mind, vision, determination, and strength are in a constant flux when you become bogged down with negative pressures and situations, especially when you are searching for the truth. This phase will pass, you will be in a better place and the situation will change. When you are suffering and going through a loss, remember that you will rise again with hope for the future. The white clouds will reappear, signifying sunny days ahead.

Since the Wheel of Fortune is always turning, the times when you are happy and content are not going to last forever. You will descend and fall, and experience that rainy day. The dark clouds will reappear, signifying unexpected storms on the horizon.

My Interpretation Of The Wheel Of Fortune Tarot Card

When in a positive position, the Wheel of Fortune indicates unexpected positive change, good fortune, and mastery of your destiny. This card symbolizes life’s changes, its ups and its downs. The Wheel of Fortune’s positivity or negativity also depends on the cards surrounding it. Generally, it is a very auspicious card, but a close look reveals its many unfortunate influences. The nature of fate dictates that surprises aren’t always so happy.

When faced with an unhappy event, you must try your best to recognize some potential good. The Wheel of Fortune will turn again and may lead to amazingly positive results.

The Wheel of Fortune also speaks about consequences. In this sense it recalls the concept of karma, which tells you that every action you take affects everything else.

As the Wheel turns clockwise, its figures rise and fall. The Wheel of Fortune refers to big things, luck, change, fortune, abundance, and happiness. Above all, it indicates the unexpected.

The Wheel of Fortune brings twists and turns, and the north, south, east and west winds. Sometimes an out-of-your-control, unexpected situation occurs that makes you feel like you have met a personal tornado of fate, something that seizes you by surprise and hurls you in new unexpected direction!

Positive Position: You are experiencing a turn for the better, and the storms of the past have cleared.

Negative Position: You are experiencing a turn for the worse, failure and misfortune. When the surrounding cards in a spread are negative, this card indicates the opposite of good fortune. In such a case, expect a change you may not like.

Timing: There is no timing with this card.

12 – The Hanged Man

You arrive at the path of wisdom through self-sacrifice… The Hanged Man represents the path of self-sacrifice and a crossroads. He is not ready to let go of something, so he stays in self-sacrifice and enters a period of stagnation where nothing is gained or lost.

The Hanged Man is ruled by Neptune, the planet of spirituality, escapism, abstract thinking, illusion, delusion, intuition, and other areas of your life where things aren’t always what they seem.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Hanged Man comes out on the first card of your reading in the positive position, you need to bring a situation to a halt before you make a mistake and learn a new lesson. You need a temporarily time in suspension to figure something out, or you need time in solitude to bring an important goal to completion. If the Hanged Man shows up in the outcome of the reading in a positive position, you need to wait something out, and your patience is required, but you also need to have faith that your time of hanging in suspension is only temporary.

You may be hanging in suspension because you betrayed someone or they betrayed you. Either way you are separated from the life that you once had, or stuck in sadness, and experiencing regret.

The Story Of The Hanged Man Tarot Card

The Hanged Man is enumerated twelve, a higher octave, and an indicator of great understanding, wisdom, and knowledge learned from life experiences.

During the phase of the number twelve, although you find calm in the midst of the greatest turbulence, you must learn how to let go of people or situations that cause you harm. This phase may trigger a form of depression caused by a feeling of loss from traumatic learning experiences.

The Hanged Man dangles from a strong oak tree by one foot, his face devoid of all signs of struggle. His blue shirt represents his thoughts about his present situation. He is ill-prepared to release what he must release, his thoughts consume him and complicate his feelings. The gray background suggests the lack of clarity in his situation.

His red leggings and belt symbolize masculinity, passion, power and an inner fire that he strives to tame through calmness. The oak tree symbolizes courage, endurance and a strong power of faith. He hangs as a sacrifice, the rope symbolizing his imprisonment and the green ivy symbolizing his binding restriction and sacrifice made to find the answers that elude him.

Paralyzed, his own desires are unclear to him, a stagnation also symbolized by his crossed legs and their reference to a crossroads where the indicated direction is uncertain.

His yellow shoes and the sunburst represent strength, creativity and the enlightenment needed to resolve the restrictions that bar his every step.

My Interpretation Of The Hanged Man Tarot Card

The Hanged Man depicts a man hanging upside-down, suspended by his leg rather than by his neck. Neither pain nor remorse nor anger troubles him as he simply hangs in place. The Hanged Man is a card of self-sacrifice, a relinquishment that is necessary to achieve what is truly desired. When the Hanged Man is not ready to let go, he stays in self-sacrifice and enters a period of stagnation where nothing is gained or lost.

Change and reevaluation are required to exit the state of limbo and uncertainty. Such change can be very difficult, especially when it concerns the affairs of the heart. Mixed emotions may plague you with fear of making the wrong choice. Yet the Hanged Man is about letting go and giving up. As painful as this may seem, release is necessary to overcome your restrictions.

This card can also imply a time when everything just stands still – a time of rest and reflection before progress. The Hanged Man also signifies a time of insight so deep that, for a moment, nothing but that insight exists as you seek clarity to see the real solution. The Hanged Man symbolizes such moments of suspension and requires a sacrifice of a cherished belief or perspective. You cannot gain by staying in the past. If you do not let go, you live in sacrifice.

Positive Position: This position represents that you are in a temporary suspension. You are at the crossroads, stuck in self-sacrifice, and not ready to let go for a reason.

Negative Position: You are hanging in suspension and not ready to let go. There might be a stubbornness that keeps you in suspension, or you might feel like a victim (tricked or duped), or you might need help from a professional to let go of something that is not working for you, or continues to hurt you.

Timing is 1 – 30 days

13 – Death

You arrive at the path that feels like Friday the 13th… The path of death represents transformation, restructure and rebirth. When the death skeleton visits your life you may wonder, “Have I Died?” The answer is, no, but, the path you were on did!

Scorpio, the zodiac sign of intensity, rules the Death card. This intensity can manifest as desire, motivation and determination, or as vengefulness, suspicion, intolerance, and violence.

The Major Arcana Represents Major Life Lessons: If the Death card comes out on the first card of your reading in the positive position, you need to prepare for a major change and understand that transformation is knocking at your door. You are asked to step away from the past because a new opportunity is opening for you. If you do not listen, you might learn a lesson that will be painful. If the Death card shows up in the outcome of the reading in a positive position, you will face the future, and accept the changes you need to make, and you will let go of an old lifestyle that was not working for you.

The Story Of The Death Tarot Card

The Death card is enumerated thirteen, a number that evokes thoughts of bad luck (black cats, Friday the 13th), but really indicates a transformation — the end of an outdated way of thinking or of an outgrown lifestyle. There will be a major unexpected turn in your life. You will be shown what is not working and make the necessary changes to transform and restructure your path.

The background of the card is gray, evoking an unclear feeling of unexpected change. The barren landscape, with a small pond at a distance, indicates harsh, difficult times and a bleak future.

The Death card shows a skeletal knight clad in black armor ( a hero) with silver detail ( a knight, baron, etc.). His faithful companion, the white horse, represents courage, speed, endurance, loyalty, devotion, unquestioning love, and the brave fighter who brings his rider safely home.

The black harness represents control and the skulls project fear into his enemies, giving him an additional advantage in combat. The black flag with a white rose is designed to threaten, intimidate and spread fear amongst his enemies. The color black signifies heroes, white purity, but the thorns on the rose signify stinging events. The knight’s sword symbolizes his mental ability to cut rapidly through a problem.

The Death skeleton represents death as the end of a cycle, not of the end of a physical life. The appearance of the Death card indicates the end of outdated ways of thinking or outgrown lifestyles.

The four figures in the Death card are the Emperor (in blue and white), the Empress (in white, flowered crown), the Hierophant (in yellow) and the Fool (in blue).

The Emperor (King) is lying on the ground. His crown and gold scepter have fallen, symbolizing lost power and control.

The Empress (King’s wife, Fool’s mother) is stricken with fear and is surrendering to Death.

The Hierophant (the priest) has no fear of death because of his faith. The Fool (the child) has no fear because his youth and naiveté prevent him from understanding what is going on.

Death strips everything to the bone, divesting all of material wealth, power, and control, and bringing difficult changes. He must clear the old path to prepare for impending change.

The river (emotions) indicates the need to move on, accede to change, release the old and embrace the new. The boat represents the boatman who will help one accept and navigate the emotional times of change. The stream leading to the background towers (completion, beginning) represents the emotional currents of thought that are forever flowing.

My Interpretation Of The Death Tarot Card

The Death card shows a skeleton wearing black armor. He is returning from a mission, showing you that something has ended because he returns as a skeleton without the foundation of his body.

His flag depicts a white rose (purity) with thorns, which indicates that he has endured a few stinging ordeals along the way! The man asks his skeleton, “Have I died?” The skeleton answers, “No, but the path you were on has died!”

The man has returned from battle and tells his skeleton that he has stripped himself to the bone and is ready to be reborn, to start anew. The Death card indicates a transition. You have been brought down to your lowest point so that you can soar to new, unprecedented heights.

The Death card’s frightful appearance is offset by the sun rising in the background, heralding a new day. When this card shows up in a reading, it means that a monumental change approaches. Where there is an ending, there is also a beginning. Sometimes this card relates to events beyond your control and simply steers you in a different direction. Everything changes. You can always count on change, no matter how long you’ve been at your job, been married, or lived in one location.

The Death skeleton represents endings: one door is closing and another is opening! Accept the reality of endings and take solace in the inevitable rebirth that follows.

Positive Position: You will experience the end of a cycle or a path that was not good for you.

Negative Position: You are in a depression that stems from the refusal to accept change. There is an ending to a situation that you refuse to accept.

Timing is 1 – 30 days

14 – Temperance

Temperance points you towards a path of learning the value of balancing the elements in your life as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the equilibrium level on your continuous cycle of change.

At times you will find yourself impatiently chafing against the slowness of life, but this card teaches you that true success and enlightenment come from the achievement of staying balanced.

Everything you do in life requires the balancing of opposites, but imbalances often takes you by surprise. You need to adjust those highs and lows so your spirit does not soar up and down like a roller coaster.

You might feel you need constant change to stay happy and then discover that your craving for new experiences has unexpected consequences. You leap into danger that you did not see coming, your luck SHUTS OFF and you are sent into a healing cycle.

Time heals all wounds and sometimes you need a temporary separation to reevaluate your situation before starting a new journey. Temperance requires you to ponder all decisions well before acting.

Numerical Number 14: This number is related to independence through inner motivation. Independence will lead you to success, but you need to modify and temper experimental behavior to achieve success and growth.

Temperance’s number 14 consists of: 1 (a new beginning) + 4 (cleansed and purified to build a new foundation) = 5 (the unpredictable lifestyle change).

The Element of Fire: Temperance is associated with the zodiac sign of Sagittarius (the traveler who loves freedom and hates to feel trapped) and the Planet Jupiter (expansion and good luck).

Probable Outcome: You are not letting everything drive you because you have found your peaceful place within you and you are taking care of yourself and thinking things through before you take the leap of faith.

It’s also possible that you need a temporary separation from others to figure something out to find your direction.

Temperance reveals liars and cleanses the situation with integrity. If you told a white lie, you might be ready face the consequences and purify yourself.

You might be ready to commit to a new healthy lifestyle, or commit to a new business or personal relationship because you have found the right fit.

Possible Outcome: You might be lacking patience and moderation and are not ready to think something through before you take the leap of faith.

You might let everything drive you because you have not found your peaceful place within. You are rushing around, working a million tasks at once and not taking care of yourself.

A white lie you told may be revealed, or a white lie that that someone else told, when revealed, sends you into an emotional whirlwind. It’s possible you found out that your lover is cheating on you, or others are gossiping and spreading rumors.

Then again, you might not be able to channel Temperance’s energies into your life at this time. If this is the case, you are not ready to slow down because you need to meet important deadlines, or it’s possible that you cannot understand why someone hurt you, or why someone gave you your freedom to explore other opportunities.

Timing: Temperance predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

15 – The Devil

The Devil indicates a path of temptation and confusion as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level on your continuous cycle of change where you need to learn to control your impulses instead of allowing them to control you.

You may became ensnared in a web of constraint and illusion and lose your ability to resist temptation if you give in to your desires without thinking about the consequences.

It’s also possible that you were conned by someone you thought cared about you and thus were blind to their true intentions.

The Devil does not have a great deal of power over you, but will try to entice you to do things you normally would not do, possibly luring you down the wrong road when you cannot see through his illusions.

You might end up relinquishing control and get trapped, or give your power away and find yourself beset by ills. You should not fear the Devil, but rather yourself.

The Devil is associated with something or someone who has a lot of power and control over you and is difficult to resist. When you give into temptations, you will be chained to your desires for that which harms and you might end up in a very sticky web. Always remember, you can easily escape the web of bondage if you want too!

Numerical Number 15: The Devil’s 15 consists of: 1 (a new beginning) + 5 (the unpredictable lifestyle change) = 6 (making a heartfelt decision to connect with the right relationship).

The Element of Earth: The Devil is associated with the zodiac sign of Capricorn (ambition to control) and the planet Saturn (the taskmaster, but also the planet of restrictions).

Probable Outcome: You may be chained to your addictions or to a controlling relationship that is not good for you. You could be stuck in a sticky web of bondage because you are not ready to make the changes you need to make, or you might not be able to see through the illusions enveloping you.

Perhaps you are too close to someone and cannot not see the lies they are telling you, or someone might be working against you and you cannot see through their false smiles or broken promises.

It’s also possible that you are ready to take a risk and cut yourself loose to live for the moment and give in to your sexual desires because you are lusting for another person.

When surrounded by positive cards, the Devil could mean the person you are seeing may make a commitment that will lead to marriage.

Possible Outcome: You are ready to start a meaningful relationship that leads to marriage and will change your lifestyle.

You might be ready to get help with an addiction problem.

You are not stuck in some illusion. You can see everything clearly and will not let others use you or control you.

Then again, you might not be able to channel the Devil’s energies into your life at this time. If this is the case, you might want to end a relationship because your feelings have vanished. You might want a divorce, or want to liberate yourself and leave the sticky web of bondage and a relationship that is not right for you.

Timing: The Devil predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

16 – The Tower

The Tower points you towards a path of unexpected upheaval as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level of your continuous cycle of change where you are suddenly knocked off your axis by swift, dramatic, life-altering circumstances.

You are being encouraged to abandon an unstable lifestyle and forge a new path supported by bedrock and leading to the realization of self-esteem.

The Tower indicates a shocking experience that is out of your control and sometimes impossible to avoid, an experience that takes you way out of your comfort zone. Your Tower of Babel might explode to release you from a relationship that is not right for you and everything will suddenly change. The change is positive, even though it does not feel very positive.

For example, your partner’s temper may have exploded and they called you every filthy name they could think of, which came as quite a shock to you. Or it’s possible that your partner had a violent outburst and hit you or pushed you around. Sometimes you end up walking on eggshells because you are afraid of your partner’s temper.

Abusive relationships have their ups and downs, but one day your Tower will explode to save you and the universe will release you from a bad relationship.

The Tower breaks down foundations that are not stable, totally destroys the foundation, and makes you clean up the rubble and build a new foundation. You are forced to pluck out the weeds (the old foundation) and plant a new beginning (a new foundation) that is right for you.

Remember, the most important revelation of truth is tearing down the old structure because it makes room for something new to be built.

Numerical Number 16:

This number is related to karma and unforeseen events that will make you feel defeated and off-kilter. Spiraling downwards brings independence and sends you into a higher level of learning when you overcome whatever tested or defeated you.

The Tower’s 16 consists of: 1 (a new beginning) + 6 (making a decision) = 7 (sorting out your options to repair a relationship or end it).

The Element of Fire:

The Tower is associated with the planet Mars (burns down the foundation).

Probable Outcome:

You might experience a sudden shock regarding your home, or job, the severing of a friendship, a discovery that your partner is having an affair, divorce, bankruptcy, an unexpected accident, illness, or job loss – anything that catches you by surprise and is out of your control.

It’s possible that your partner exploded and called you filthy names or your partner had a violent outburst and hit you or pushed you around.

Maybe you are the one who destroyed a relationship because you did not respect your partner and you were ready to build a new foundation.

Possible Outcome:

You and your partner are fighting all the time over stupid things and cannot agree with each other. Every conversation seems to become a recipe for disaster.

You are stuck in a bad situation and unwilling to move on or are staying in a relationship that is making you miserable. You are unwilling to change or alter your path and remain stagnant because you fear that you cannot make it your own.

Then again, you might not be able to channel the Tower’s energies into your life at this time. If this is the case, you or your partner are holding everything inside and may be ready to explode. There is a very uncomfortable feeling about your relationship and how the future is going to play out.

Timing:

The Tower predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

17 – The Star

The Star points you towards a path of hope and new goals as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level on your continuous cycle of change when you have escaped the yoke of the past and are beginning to look forward to the future.

You have finally entered the calm after the storm. You have started healing and have been presented with the belief that tomorrow will be a better day.

The Star brings you into the time when you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and put the baleful ghosts of the past behind you! Your goals are in front of you now and you have a blessing to realize them. The twinkling lights of the stars are shining on you and drawing you out of the gloomy past.

Your crisis will be overcome and bring a new opportunity for growth as you shed what restrained you. After the storm, there is usually a rainbow, a symbol of good news, hope, redemption, luck, a new path, and the ending of gloom.

The Aquarius Star brings a promise that you will find peace in your mind, body and spirit, open your heart to start living in the present again and assume control of your destiny. It takes you on the magical carpet ride to meet the spirit of hope and faith that will heal you in a mysterious way.

Sometimes during your healing mission you will meet the open traveler who comes into your life for a short time to help you live for the future. But once the job of teaching you how to live for the future and is finished, the open traveler will leave unexpectedly.

Numerical Number 17: This number is related to releasing the baleful ghosts of the past. The Star is associated with seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and giving you hope and faith in the future. You will be guided by the star of hope and faith, see the hidden truths, accept universal healing and understand that your life will improve.

The Star’s 17 consists of1 (a new beginning) + 7 (emotional conflicts and choices you will make to help you become a stronger person. You will learn NOT to mow down the people who get in your way; rather, you will learn how to sort out your options and repair a relationship or end it entirely) = 8 (the power to make changes and achieve personal goals).

The Element of Air: The Star is associated with the zodiac sign of Aquarius (the water-bearer who washes away the past) and the planet Uranus (which never abandons a path until it has sealed the deal. Uranus will take you out of the past and point you towards the future. Healing will sneak up on you in a mysterious way and your life will improve).

Probable Outcome: You are releasing the past. You have hope and faith for the future and know that you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and notice that your life is improving.

You will accept that there might have been a karmic link between you and a situation, but you will also realize that this karmic link brought challenges to help you grow.

You will take a break from your situation and spend time with yourself and start to love yourself again and feel inspired or have a sudden flash of insight. You might start a meditation program, or decide to explore other avenues of healing, or it’s possible you might decide to learn astrology.

Possible Outcome: You might be stuck in the pain of the past and clinging to its baleful ghosts. It’s possible that you have doubts and cannot see the light at the end of the tunnel and don’t understand how your life could improve.

You might be experiencing obstacles that are out of your control and prevent you from moving on, or it’s possible that you are not ready to accept healing advice from others because you are a private person who wants to be your own taskmaster.

Then again, you might not be able to channel the Star’s energies into your life at this time. If this is the case, you are not ready to accept the karmic link between you and a situation. You still need more time by yourself to figure things out, or to understand why someone hurt you, or why someone gave your freedom to explore other opportunities.

Timing: The Star predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

18 – The Moon

The Moon points you towards a path of separating reality from illusion as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level on your continuous cycle of change where you need to learn to tell fact from fiction when dealing with people who want to trick or mislead you.

Perhaps you also need to determine if what you think you see or know is real or if your own mind is playing tricks on you.

The Moon is equated with confusion because her light is not as bright as that of the Sun. Shadows are deeper, your eyes and mind do not see things clearly, or it’s possible you are frightened by the unknown. “Where there is perception, there is deception.” “Don’t believe everything you think.” (The Diamond Sutra / Pema Chodron)

Sometimes you need to question your motives and the people around you! The Moon is associated with the keeper of secrets and events that are hovering behind the scenes that will come out of hiding and surprise you.

When the Moon appears in your tarot reading, you also need to pay attention to your dreams for they represents important events related to the past, present and future.

Sometimes your dreams will give you important information about the present or the future, but sometimes your dreams are a reflection of your feelings about the past. These feelings might stay repressed because of a past traumatic event that overwhelmed you with pain and anxiety. The Moon will awaken deep memories from the past and release them into the present, causing you to wonder why the past is resurfacing.

Numerical Number 18: This number is related to falling for a sob story, or getting tricked by someone, or making someone’s problem your problem and carrying their baggage around and experiencing hardships and learning lessons.

The Moon’s 18 consists of: 1 (a new beginning) + 8 (the power to make changes and achieve personal goals) = 9 (clearing the deck and doing whatever it takes to prepare for a new cycle).

The Moon is also associated with the path of mystery which indicates that you need to become the Hermit and take time away to understand distractions to determine if something is wrong in order to choose the right course of action to take.

The Element of Water: The Moon is associated with the zodiac sign of Pisces (mystery, wisdom, pain and ecstasy), and the planet Neptune (the mystical awakener). Neptune will awaken you because something mysterious is hovering behind the scenes that you cannot see or understand at the moment.

Probable Outcome: This is the time to rely on your higher-self, intuition, dreams and hunches to solve a personal mystery.

Your mind might be tricking you, or someone else might be tricking you. All is not what it seems to be and you cannot follow through with what you want to do until you are sure.

You might have vivid dreams and need to understand what these dreams mean because your dreams will give you important messages about the past, present, or the future, or your dreams might be aligning you with a future event that is about to happen.

Your psychic abilities might be opening up, or your intuition might feel disturbed, or you might have deep instincts that cannot be ignored.

Something might be coming to an end that you do not know about, but you have an inner knowing that something is not right.

Possible Outcome: You might make a mistake if you follow through with what you intend to do! It’s the right time to slam on the breaks until you figure something out and listen to your higher-self, intuition, dreams and hunches to help you solve a mystery. Your dreams will provide important clues to understanding what is really bothering you!

Then again, you might not be able to channel the Moon’s energies into your life at this time. If this is the case, you might feel lost in the fog, confused, very unhappy, and cannot make good decisions.

It’s also possible that something has ended, but this ending will help you start a new beginning.

Timing: The Moon predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

19 – The Sun

The Sun points you towards a path of success, vitality, contentment, and basking in the light as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level of a balanced life bringing overall happiness on your continuous cycle of change.

You have put the shadow of the Moon behind you, sprang free from the bonds of the past, and are focused on the radiance of a better life.

The Sun represents your new identity as a child, the New Ascendant, confident again. Your child self is free because your conscious and subconscious are in perfect balance and you are not fumbling around in the dark or stuck in the ghosts of the glooming past.

The Sun is one of the luckiest cards and represents success, achievement, positive news, health, births, financial success, marriage, stability and overall happiness.

The shadow of the Moon is long gone and you are able to see a new day again, energized, with obstacles and difficulties resolved. The Sun heralds a time when you are happy and able to see your life in a new light. The darkness of the past has lifted and allows a time of celebration and feeling unified with unconditional love because you are happy and content.

The Sun shines on you as you begin the path of success. You shine like the Sun because you radiate an optimistic frame of mind with courage and confidence.

Numerical Number 19: The Sun indicates letting the darkness of the past go and finishing up the old path so you will be able to start new work and start associating with new people again.

The Sun’s number 19 consists of: 1 (a new beginning) + 9 (clearing the deck and doing whatever it takes to prepare for a new cycle) = 10 (you will experience completion, or start over with new beginning that is ready to grow into something beautiful when you make the right adjustments to transform your life).

The Element of Fire: The tarot Sun is associated with our star, the Sun (your personal power, but also your secret vehicle to take action and go after something you want that is important to you).

Probable Outcome: Obstacles and difficulties are resolved. You are able to see everything clearly and are not stuck in a fog bank of uncertainty.

The Sun is a good omen, indicating celebration, success, achievement, a birth, a new relationship, marriage, stability, good health and overall happiness.

Possible Outcome: You might still be living in the shadow of the Moon and your new journey is delayed. Your situation is unclear because you are still dealing with the obstacles and difficulties of the past.

Then again, you might not be able to channel the Sun’s energies into your life. If this is the case, you may be on your way to feeling great again, but you might have days of feeling great mixed in with days of sadness.

Timing: The Sun predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.

20 – Judgement

Judgement points you towards a path of reevaluation, forgiveness, and redemption, as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the level of release, growth and transformation on your continuous cycle of change.

It is time to wipe the slate clean and start fresh, to forgive yourself or anyone who ever hurt you and let go of all the negative emotions that surround you and are preventing your growth.

The Judgement card is all about forgiveness, the divine message of the Tarot. Forgiving someone can be very difficult, but you need to realize that forgiveness has great healing powers.

When you hold onto a grudge for another person, you are feeding yourself poison because you cannot release what happened to you. You poison your life, not theirs, and keep reliving an experience you would rather forget.

In contrast, when you forgive someone, you release the poison you are holding onto and escape the coffin or tomb. You choose to feel good rather than feel imprisoned in the past with bad memories.

Judgement is also associated with a spiritual awakening, the time when you are looking back at all the decisions you have made and where you are at today and understand that if you had not made changes in the past, you would not have grown and be where you are at today.

It’s also possible that this awakening brings you into the time of reevaluating your lifestyle and looking deeply at the changes you could make that will bring happiness.

Numerical Number 20: This number is related to a learning experience. When you are desperate to be secure, you might make bad choices and later experience heartache and loss. Sometimes you lose your personality when overpowered by a stronger personality, wind up in the wrong relationship and experience a separation in order to heal your spirit to find yourself again.

Judgement’s 20 consists of: 2 (making a big decision) + 0 (the beginning point of your journey when you are ready to experience something new and release all limitations because you trust in a higher power) = 2 (making a final choice regarding the direction you want to take with a relationship).

The Element of Water: Judgement is associated with the planet Pluto (the planet of power, transformation, forgiveness, rebirth, reconciliation, redemption, release and renewal).

Probable Outcome: You understand how to forgive others, but more importantly, you understand how to forgive yourself for your mistakes. When you forgive yourself, you are ready to accept change and start living in the present again.

You regain clarity and focus, attaining a position from which you will clear the air, break the silence, bring everything into the open to understand the truth with forgiveness.

You might be experiencing a spiritual awakening and looking back at all the decisions you have made, and where you are at today, or reevaluating your lifestyle and looking deeply at the changes you could make that will bring happiness.

These changes could relate to starting over because you are healed and not stuck in a tomb with skeletons from the past. You might decide to start counseling to save your relationship, or forgive your partner for hurting you, or forgive yourself for hurting your partner, or you might decide to start a new relationship because you have met someone new and want to end your existing relationship.

Possible Outcome: You might be experiencing self-doubt, indecision, holding back and staying in a rut. Instead of accepting a new rebirth, you are still clinging to your old lifestyle, resisting change.

It’s possible that your partner cheated on you, or asked you for a separation or divorce, or you are the one that cheated and messed up the relationship and your partner will not take you back, or you are stuck in guilt because you hurt someone.

Then again, you might not be able to channel Judgement’s energies into your lifestyle. If this is the case, then your refusal to forgive causes you to live with the ghosts of the past.

Your development to live in the future is delayed until you are ready to let go of who hurt you and move away from the sickening nostalgia of the past.

It’s possible that you are not ready to wipe the slate clean and start over and need professional help.

Timing: Judgement predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days

21 – The World

The World points you towards a path of initial completion as you continue your journey through the seventy-eight passageways of growth. This is the next level up on your continuous cycle of change and is the final Major Arcana path.

Starting with the path of the Fool, you had to attend “The School of Hard Knocks” and learn very hard lessons to gain wisdom from mistakes and to become a stronger person. Today is a graduation.

Congratulations on climbing the last mountain of setbacks and struggles! You are receiving your diploma and standing at the gate of a fresh new start. The past does not hold you back anymore because you tied up all your loose ends and will not wander back in time and repeat old patterns that got you in trouble.

You are at the end of your journey, placing the final touches that allow the forging of new beginnings – the end of a cycle and the time of completion. You closed the doors to the past and are now opening the new doors to the future.

Remember, all endings bring new beginnings and this card reveals that yours will come very soon. When you reach the World on your journey, you will realize that you have finally reached an important point in your life’s education. Having grown, you should be proud of what you have accomplished and acknowledge the distance and time that it exacted.

Numerical Number 21: This number is related to working hard to achieve your goals and having learned the necessary lessons, closing the doors to the past. You will feel inspired and optimistic about the future and the new goals that are waiting for you to explore.

The World, enumerated 21, consists of: 2 (making a choice) + 1 (a new beginning) = 3 (rebirth, creating something new. You will expand, give birth to life and create something beautiful with people who are close to you).

The Element of Earth: The World is associated with the planet Saturn (wisdom received from making mistakes and rolling up your sleeves to do the hard work to complete your education).

Probable Outcome: You are experiencing self-completion and success. You are the commander and chief of your life, no longer ruled by old thoughts because you live in the now. You have tied up loose ends and everything is starting to fall in place.

You might receive recognition from others and feel respected and appreciated.

Possible Outcome: Things from the past rule your mind, or you still have loose ends that need to be tied up. This might be a time of frustration, delayed completion, or a stagnated situation, but not failure. Things are not moving as fast as you wanted.

It’s possible that you are not receiving recognition from others, or do not feel respected and appreciated.

Then again, you might not be able to channel the World’s energies into your life. If this is the case, then you are not willing to make changes because you are too structured.

It’s also possible that you unwilling to end a situation and your resistance to make this change indicates a delayed completion to achieve your dreams. You are still a student in the “School of Hard Knocks” because there is still more work to be done.

Timing: The World predicts that an important event may occur within the next 30 days.
