Zagan

HISTORY OF ZAGAN

Zagan is a fallen angel and is the 61st spirit of Solomon. He is mentioned in the Ars Goetia as one of those entrapped by the king and forced to do his bidding. The Enn Pronunciation of his name is Anay on ca secore Zagan tasa.

He is a king of hell who first appears as a bull with griffin horns then transforms to a man. In other texts, he is referred to as the president of hell.

Zagan can grant the gift of wisdom to foolish people – this is by making them witty. This is arguably his most important ability as cunning can be used to great effect.

He can turn wine into water, blood into oil, oil into water, and blood into win. Zagan can also change lead into silver and copper into gold. He is also able to turn metals into their coins. These are all impressive although it is arguable whether this ability is actually important.

Other texts portray him as the protector of people who perpetrate fraud with fake means of exchange. More importantly, Zagan commands 33 legions of inferior demons.
