Phenex is a Great Marquis of Hell who rules over twenty legions of demons. He is one of the fallen angels and was formerly in the Angelic Order of Thrones. He has a futile hope of returning to the seventh throne after 1200 years. He is the thirty-seventh spirit of the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Appearance:

He appears in the form of a Phoenix bird singing sweet notes with the voice of a child. But instead of listening to his sweet voice the summoner is expected to command him into his human form.

This night flying demon has mostly black feathers that fall away as he flies. He also has a long tail that is decorated with yellow and red-orange feathers. Demon Phenex is often accompanied by an attendant Demon who takes the form of an eagle.

Working with Demon Phenex:

This demon is said to be an obedient spirit who obeys the bidding of the summoner. He is a night demon. You can summon him using his demonic enn, sigil, and other items attributed to him. He might appear to you in the form of a Phoenix bird as described in the Goetia or he could take a different form.

According to V.K Jehannum, Demon Phenex appeared to him in the form of a muscular man with a wavy red and snow-white skin. He wore black clothes and his eyes were black too. Although, this demon appears as a gentle spirit, it is important to note that he is constantly yearning for human flesh.

His weapons are its beak and claws. Johann Wier warned against giving ear to the sweet songs of the bird because these songs are meant to hypnotize his victims including the summoner. In such a state, the victims might willingly enter the demon’s mouth and be devoured. For this reason, every summoner is expected to take precautions while working with this demon.
