Crocell (Corcell)

KNOWN POWERS

Pseudomonarchia Daemonum, written by Johann Weyer in 1583 states Procell as a great and powerful duke who appears in the form of an angel but speaks in the dark of hidden things.

It proposes that Procell possesses the ability to warm bodies of water, make the sounds of flowing waters appear, and disclose the site of natural pools of water. He is related to the element of water.

  • It has been said this Demon can produce sounds to impress or scare an exorcist….” she can produce great noises and cause great commotions.”
  • She can produce confusion and indecisiveness in one’s enemies.
  • Has the ability to purify water if the witch or sorcerer needs cleansing

“Crocell teaches mysticism, geometry, art, history, and all of the liberal sciences”

SIGIL/SEAL

According to some Occults, keeping the seal of Crocell with one can help produce great misunderstanding, inconclusiveness, and noise in one’s foes.

So I’ll share an interesting story where the page detailing Crocell’s disappeared from the website. I only knew about this disappearance during a discussion with one of my clients when this Demon stepped forward to be known. As I had not personally worked with this Demons Crocell for some time, I had to resort to my website and these pages to find out information to trigger my memory on this Crocell’s skill set, and reason for contacting my client and myself.

So perhaps it was Crocell himself/herself, who decided the seal should not be here on the website.

And when I think about this a little deeper, it would make sense how offensive it would be to some Demons to have their calling card a.k.a. sigil placed in a circle. This Demon like most of the Goetia Demons, had a very negative experience with King Solomon, who decided to use the daemonic powers for his own narcissistic purposes. Then, as all narcissist do, show his loyalty for their gifts by locking the demons in a vessel.

Goetia seals and sigils are displayed within the circle. Crokel, does not like the sigil in the traditional manner (wrapped in a circle) and so I recommend you only display Crocell’s sigil outside of a circle, as seen above.

NOTE

  1. Others say it may help one in gaining familiarity with geometry, art, history, and literature.
  2. Most Demons do not mind their sigil in a circle

APPEARANCE

It is said this Demon appears in the form of an angel.

It’s important to note that the use of Angel can be a little distracting to those who practice the dark arts, especially if their history has been in Christianity. But if you take Christianity out of the sentence and think of the appearance only as a very impressive spirit who has exceptional capabilities, you would say this Demon looks like an angel. Appearance is very impressive, dark, and strong, these would be two words to describe this Demon

She appears with long flowing blonde hair and a blue dress with large blue wings.

HISTORY

Crocell or Duke Procell is said to be the forty-ninth spirit in the Goetia. It is said that he was once a part of the Powers or the Potestates, but now he is the Duke of Hell or Jinnestan, commanding 48 legions of demons.

Jinnestan is a jinn world, or Fairy Land, with The Country of Delight as its chief area and The City of Jewels as its capital. In some Christian interpretations, Jinnistan is translated to be Hell, but in Islamic interpretations, it is said to be a significant sector of Hell where it is said to be the domain of the Jinn, who operate along with the other Hellish demons. Jinn, or genies (Anglicized) also Romanized as djinn (with the wider sense of ghosts or demons, depending on the source), are mythical beings in early pre-Islamic Arabian folklore and theology. They are born as believers, and their environments then alter them, just like humans. Because Jinn is neither innately evil nor innately good. Jinn isn’t exclusively Islamic; it can reflect a number of pagan beliefs that have been incorporated into Islam.

In Film

Procell appears as a character in the popular Japanese fantasy-adventure manga series “ Magi-The Labyrinth of Magic”. The manga was later adapted into an anime series by A-1 Pictures. In the Manga, Procell is said to be a member of King Solomon’s household in Alma Torran.

According to the series, Procell along with the rest of Jinn were created by King Solomon himself. Procell is Sinbad’s seventh and final Djinn and is found within Sinbad’s long sword and grants him a primal form strong enough to deal with rapid and strong attacks.

In Tarot

Goal- Ask Crocell to produce confusion and indecisiveness in your enemies.

In the Rider Waite deck a fiery battle scene is depicted and each combatant appears to wield their wand in a seemingly chaotic and haphazard manner, thus indicating conflicts of direction and approaches. Moreover there does not seem to be clearly defined sides competing against one another, suggesting that this is a group of rogue mercenary combatants each with their own agendas and interests.

The Five of Wands signifies the beginning of a conflict and battle of wills but is distinctly silent with respect to the outcome and eventual victor. It can be seen as an exhortation to the querent to extend beyond their current limits and strive for excellence. Alternatively, it can be a warning to focus on one’s own projects and not let envy of others interfere with personal goals.

In a work or career reading the Five of Wands represents fierce, unrelenting competition. If you have become complacent and satisfied that there is no one who can improve upon what you have achieved, you are being given the stark message that this is not the case. Not only is your position in danger, those who seek to terminate your reign have persistence and skill in abundance. If you have colleagues whom you consider friends, you are advised to adopt a detached attitude towards them, because they may in fact be looking for an opportunity to either take your position or take credit for your ideas and hard work.

Positive Aspects: friendly rivalry, chance to extend one’s limits, sportsmanship

Negative Aspects: love rivals, fierce competition, arguments, ego battles, one-upmanship, fight for affection, envy
