Andramalech, god of murder

Andramalech is another demon who is often overlooked within demonology. This is probably due to him not being one of the 72 Goetia demons ensnared by King Solomon in antiquity. Furthermore, this demon is especially cunning and malevolent hence it is not advisable to invoke him if an equally able entity can be summoned.

In antiquity, Andramalech was worshiped as a pagan god and human sacrifices were dedicated to him. Most importantly, ancient civilizations affiliated to him would offer up children sacrifices hence his other title “massacrer of innocents”. Ironically, his name translates to “good king” within ancient Sumerian dialect.

Despite not being mentioned in most mainstream grimories, Andramalech has been mentioned multiple times within the Christian bible and within other Hebrew text as well as the Pseudomonarchia Daemonum and Dictionnaire Infernal. It is in fact the Christian bible which reports of children being burned in the fire as sacrifices to Andramalech albeit in a manner that is disapproving.

The existence of this demon is tied in with another – Anamalech. This latter entity is described as being the god of the moon and being female in nature whereas Andramalech is male and associated with the sun. Within ancient Sumerian reckoning, these two entities were referred to as the gods of the Sepharvaim as a pairing.

History

As previously mentioned, Andramalech is though to have his origins within ancient Sumerian worship. The Sepharvites were a group of people who were deported from Assyria to Samaria – they were mostly of Phoenician origin although they adopted Semitic ways. It was this group of people which paid the most reverence to the two gods of the moon and sun.

It is noteworthy that this demon is also mentioned with John Milton’s Paradise Lost (which was published in 1667) as well as de Plancy’s Dictionnaire Infernal. Andramalech is also mentioned within the Talmud as being a god of the Sepharvites. After his fall from grace, he is reported to have got the position of Chancellor of Hell and supervisor of Satan’s attire.

Steps:

  • The conjuror should prepare by engaging in power meditation and balancing their chakras beforehand.
  • The altar is laid out with the black candle being placed at the center and lit.
  • The following prayer is recited once the altar is set up and the offerings are given out:
“Lord Satan, by your grace, grant me, I pray thee the power to conceive in my mind and to execute that which I desire to do,the end which I would attain by thy help, O Mighty Satan, the one True God who livest and reignest forever and ever. I entreat thee to inspire Andramalech to manifest before me that she may give me true and faithful answer, so that I may accomplish my desired end, provided that it is proper to his / her office. This I respectfully and humbly ask in YourName, Lord Satan, may you deem me worthy, Father”.
  • The demon’s enns are then chanted as he manifests within the smoke and flames of the offering.
  • After listening to the wishes of the conjuror, he must be dismissed respectfully.
